The package (formally designated by Grumman as the "330-192 package") was hastily developed and flown on LM-5 (Apollo 11) and all subsequent lunar missions after the Apollo 10 crew reported that LM-4 suit cooling was marginal during the altitude chamber run at KSC.The new cooling package was fabricated primarily from existing components (to include repurposing of the fan from the A7L Portable Life Support System (PLSS) ). In order to accomidate the new cooling package, LM-5/Eagle's original cabin heat exchanger was removed.
